1. General

These Terms and Conditions govern the rental of vehicles from Boss Auto Rentals. By booking or renting a vehicle from us, the renter agrees to comply with these terms. Boss Auto Rentals reserves the right to refuse a rental at its discretion if the renter does not meet the required conditions.

2. Driver Eligibility

Drivers must be at least 25 years old, hold a valid driver licence, and provide a licence in English or an International Driving Permit with translation if required. Additional per day charge if the driver is 21 years to under 25 years old. Only drivers listed on the rental agreement may drive the vehicle.

3. Rental Period

The rental period begins at the pickup time and date stated in the agreement and ends when the vehicle is returned. Late returns may incur additional charges. Boss Auto Rentals reserves the right to charge additional rental fees if the vehicle is returned after the agreed return time.

4. Payment & Bond

Full payment must be made before or at the start of the rental period. A security bond will be held on the renter’s credit card for the duration of the rental. The bond may be used to cover damage to the vehicle, traffic fines, fuel charges, cleaning fees, or
late return charges. The bond will be released once the vehicle is returned and inspected.

5. Insurance & Excess

All rentals include standard insurance coverage subject to an excess amount. Typical excess levels: Standard Cover – $5000 excess Reduced Excess – $2500 excess Full Cover – $500 excess Insurance may be void if the renter breaches the rental agreement.

6. Vehicle Use Restrictions

Vehicles must not be used off-road or on restricted unsealed roads, for racing, towing, competitions, transporting illegal goods, or by unauthorized drivers. Smoking inside the vehicle is strictly prohibited. A cleaning fee may apply if the vehicle is returned excessively dirty.

7. Fuel Policy

Vehicles will be provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with the same fuel level.
If the vehicle is returned with less fuel, refueling charges will apply.

8. Accidents & Damage

In the event of an accident or damage, the renter must inform Boss Auto Rentals immediately, contact police if required, and complete an accident report.
Failure to report an accident may void insurance coverage.

9. Traffic Offences & Fines

The renter is responsible for all traffic infringements, parking fines, and toll charges incurred during the rental period.
Administrative fees may apply for processing fines.

10. Vehicle Condition

The renter agrees to return the vehicle in the same condition as received, with all keys and accessories, and at the agreed location and time.
Damage not noted at pickup may be charged to the renter.

11. Cancellation Policy

Cancellation policies may apply depending on the booking type. Refunds are subject to cancellation timing and administrative fees.

12. Liability

Boss Auto Rentals shall not be liable for loss of personal belongings, delays due to mechanical failure or unforeseen circumstances, or indirect or consequential losses.

13. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of New Zealand.
